Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Augusta with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Georgia may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. I eat from here every now and then but I was disappointed to have a bug in my Vegetable Lo Mein today as I stirred the noodles it showed up😩. I called to see if anything could be done, they just apologized and said they would be more careful. So if you order noodles like me, just be cautious & check your food thoroughly.

I moved to Augusta about 3 years ago, and I recently discovered this place. I always passed by and saw many cars, so I stopped in. The food is always hot and the prices are the lowest in Augusta. Everything is cooked fresh to order. For the amount of customers that they have, they get them served pretty fast. The only problem I have is that I am a catfish lover, and although they have it on the menu, they sell you swai instead of catfish. Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but I can. Swai has a softer texture and a sweet taste to it. I think that this is not being honest with customers. Other than that, it's a good place for fresh hot seafood.

The food tasted great. It was cooked just the way I liked it. I highly recommend this restaurant for some of the best seafood in the area.

Johnny’s Fish Market has been a local gem since 2001. Whether you’re picking up a few fillets to cook at home or having them fry it up for you on the spot. But the real surprise? The Chinese food. It’s the kind of hole-in-the-wall takeout spot that you wouldn’t think twice about—until someone lets you in on the secret. Once you try it, you’ll understand why there’s a steady stream of loyal customers coming in and out. The workers a very friendly and you can tell that they really cater to the locals. This is not the kind of place you go into with high expectations. It’s a no-frills, grab-and-go kind of place with reasonable prices. Johnny’s isn’t just a fish market—it’s a local favorite hiding in plain sight.

Visited during a trip home seems as if Johnny's has gone down. I purchased Fresh Water Bream and 1 Lb of Flounder. The Flounder was sour in smell the Fresh Water Bream smelled its natural way also the Nile Bream was sour in smell during making my selections so I decided not to purchase.
